Future addition from Kaleidoscope Farm! 4/19/05
Coming soon to Redbud from Kaleidoscope Farm…a darling filly by Jireh’s Whitgoldstar! She’s a half Connemara filly that should mature in the 12.2 – 13.2h range. She’s a fabulously marked buckskin overo and is going to attract alot of attention wherever she goes. Yet again…a HUGE thanks to Sharon of Kaleidoscope for giving us this opportunity! We’re still working on a name for this one…check back later!
Redbud gets a new stallion!! 3/9/05
We are so pleased and excited to announce that once again, our partnership with Kaleidoscope Farmin Kentucky is helping us to improve the quality of our stock. On March 1st the American Sporthorse stallion Waterloo, made the 12 hour journey from Kentucky to Missouri. He will be standing at Redbud in the future, but our immediate plans involve getting him started under saddle and having him registered and inspected with the AWR/ASPR in the fall of 2005. Watch for his sportpony foals in 2006. We expect some amazing color and even more amazing athletic ability. See more about Waterloo on the stallions page.
Our first Thoroughbred 11/1/04
Our very first Thoroughbred mare arrived on Halloween. Her name is Guide The Way and she’s a lovely, sweet girl. She has an impeccable pedigree with noteworthy names such as Native Dancer, Nasrullah, Hail To Reason, Affectionately, Swaps and Bold Ruler. We currently have plans to breed her to a wonderful TB stallion and will consider raising both sport horses and sport ponies with her in the future. You can see her photo on the mares page. She has built her own performance record and has proven to be quite versatile with experience on the track, as a hunter/jumper and as a barrel racer. We are so pleased to have her here and must say thank you to Rebecca Haas for this opportunity.
Impress and Ditto are home! 10/22/04
In the last two weeks we’ve had two more pony additions to the farm. Impress My Cowboy, who can be seen on the mares page, came home from Kentucky. She’s been in the care of Kaleidoscope farm since last February and we’re SO happy to have her home. The day we got her home, we pulled right back out of the driveway to go pick up Carbine Copy, aka Ditto! He was weaned and waiting for us upon our return from Kentucky. Jack is so excited to have Ditto here. They’ll be riding partners in the future. Ditto is not going to remain pony sized and Jack is thrilled! Our best guess at this point is that Ditto will mature in the 15h area, thanks to his warmblood background. Denise at AmarugiaHorse Farm did a fabulous job with him and we can’t thank her enough.
A surprise addtion! 8/22/04
We are so excited and surprised to announce the arrival of ‘Redbud’s Smoking Gun’ He’s a tobiano turning grey by Magnum out of Sabrina. Sabrina had been retired from her broodmare duties, but this was her quiet and sneaky protest. ‘Moe’ is equally as nice as Sabrina’s last foal and has quite the personality! Pictures from best baby thermometer choice coming soon to the youngstock page.
We are pleased to announce that we’ll be adding a lovely Chestnut Quarter Pony mare to our herd! She’s ‘Red Hot Pistol B’ owned by Lana Sibley. For several years we’ve tried to imagine what a foal by Magnum and Pistol would be like and now we have the opportunity to find out!
We’re working on another oustide breeding as well. Malina went to visit Amarugia Horse Farm. We’re anxious to see what their stallion ‘Legend of Pride’ will produce crossed on a medium pony mare. The foal will belong to Amarugia Horse Farm but will be born here at Redbud.
